Clarence A. Haynes is author of the forthcoming urban fantasy novel The Ghosts of Gwendolyn Montgomery (Legacy Lit) and co-author of the acclaimed YA Afrofuturist series Nubia: The Awakening and The Reckoning (Delacorte Press), written with actor/producer Omar Epps. He is also author of the nonfiction work The Legacy of Jim Crow (Penguin Workshop), published as part of the True History series for middle-grade readers.

In addition to his writing, Clarence has worked as an editor for a variety of publishers that include Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, and Amazon Publishing. He has helped shape top-selling fiction titles like The Hundredth Queen, Scarlet Odyssey, Legacy of Lies, These Toxic Things, the Wall Street Journal bestseller We Lie Here and the Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestseller The Vine Witch, along with its sequels. And he has edited lauded nonfiction titles like You Gotta Be You and The Stolen Wealth of Slavery. Clarence is particularly interested in working with other writers in the genres of sci-fi/fantasy, YA, mythology, general fiction, cultural criticism, and nonfiction that focuses on intimacy and interpersonal relationships.
